We have met 2 other families in out hotel who had the same gotcha as us. We have gotten together a few times and it has been a huge blessing to walk this part of our journey together. Today we went for a walk to the park which was so nice, no matter how far we had to walk, we all needed to get out of the room! We did have to cross one pretty big road. It honestly was so historical! Ever see the game Frogger? That's what I felt like, one step forward, two step backs, run run run run, nose to a bus STOP here comes a scooter!!!!!!! I wanted to take a video of it, but I value my life! LOL
Once at the park we had a nice walk and finally found something the kids could play on. It wasn't really playground equipment, it was exercises stuff, but it served it purpose. I was VERY impressed by the men over 80 doing pull ups, and monkey bars!!!!
And of course one woman got brave to come talk to us and then they all followed! They pulled up our kids pant legs, heaven forbid they have one layer in 70 degree weather, they pointed at my long skirt (and laughed) *silly foreigners must like to freeze, and of course tried to talk to us no matter how many times we put our hands up to tell them we don't understand. lol. Once they became fascinated with one of the moms putting a baby Ergo on I decided this was my time to go see where my husband was hiding. HE was taking pictures of our crowd! LOL
The rest of the day was pretty uneventful, we went to KFC for dinner and called it a night.
The next day we were scheduled to go see and old Pagoda surrounded by several shrines to Buddha. I didn't get to really listen because I was busy keeping Isac happy. Then we went to the old city wall which is a wall that surrounded the whole city of Xian. Pretty fascinating that these things are still up and in good shape.
Again the rest of the night was pretty fascinating other than our fun ordering room service.
Isac and Nina are adjusting well. Isac has his 2 year old tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants but otherwise is very sweet and happy. He looooves to love on Nina f she is sad and gives her kisses and hugs.
Nina is more fragile than Isac. When she gets sad it is VERY sad we have to really work with her on what she can and can't do. We don't think she has heard the word no too many times, and if she has, probably hasn't had to follow it too much. But were working carefully on it. She is such a sweet sweet girl! With such a big heart. You can tell everything she does is with a fierceness from loving the love. I love loving this girl!!!!
Pictures to come soon!
LOVE
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:27
He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.
Ephesians 1:5-6
Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.
Isaiah 1:17
